Elizabeth were born in Canton Berne Switzerland, town of Zeinem(?) [perhaps Zweisimmen?-JAM]. She was born in 1821 and married John Andrist in 1840.
They had seven children in Switzerland and the last two were born in the U.S.A. [9 is Switzerland. the two eldest remained there. - JAM] John and
his three brothers came to U.S.A. landing at New York and settled North Georgetown, Ohio. Elizabeth came later with the seven children. This was in
1858. John died March 18, 1875 and is presumed buried in Georgetown, Ohio. After John died, Elizabeth came to Dodge County, Minnesota, where most
of her sons were. She died Feb 2, 1902, just 17 days from her 81st birthday. Survived by seven sons. Great great grandmother Elizabeth is buried
at Berne, Minnesota, a few miles northwest of Rochester.

participated in several hard-fought battles of the war: Fort Donaldson, Pittsburg Landing, Siege of Vicksburg, and other engagements. He was
honorably discharged, Dec.9, 1864 at Milwaukee, WI. In 1869, he and Magdalene Bucks Andrist came to Dodge Co., MN and became engaged in running a
farm. They were married in Sept.,18, 1866. Member of the G.A.R. and German Lutheran Church. Politically, he was an independent. He was owner of a
160-acre farm in Mantorville, MN which stayed in the family for 70 years. I got a lot of these items from a large Atlas in Mantorville which told a
lot of things about old settlers who lived in Dodge Co. He moved to Florida with his second wife but returned to Mantorville to die in Oct. 1923
after becoming very ill of heart trouble. Buried the day before Christmas in Mantorville cemetery next to his first wife."

° Oct. 30,1911 in Mantorville Minn. He homesteaded in Clarement Montana before moving to Grays Lake, Ill.. In March 1926 he moved to Amberg Wis.
° He bought 80acres in the White Rapids community of Amberg he brought his six children at the time Fae, Lester, Sydney, Harlan, Joyce, and
° Mildred. In the next decade 6 more children were born, they were Helen, Leon, Arleen (a twin Eileen died at birth) and Duane. Thier were two
° other children that died at birth a son buried in Amberg and a son in Mantorville, Minn. Fred was a diary farmer and eventually bought the
° neighboring 120 acres in the 1940's, moving his family to this farm house. Fred served on the Amberg town board till his death of a heart attack
° at age 70. Hattie Stark was born July 11,1894, in Mantorville Minn. daughter of Jacob and Sarah Stark. She died Oct.23,1961 of colon cancer.
